Smart DevOps project aims to close the gap between current and future’s skills demands of municipal workforce in Smart Cities by emphasizing on the exploitation of emerging employment paradigms such as DevOps.
To address the shortage of digital and transferrable skills of employees working in smart cities / municipalities and will support them in their professional development we identified three specific job profiles for Smart Cities professionals and designed and delivered VET curricula combining digital and transferrable skills, including the development of a Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) and the associated open educational resources (OERs), providing e-learning, face-to-face training and work-based learning experiences.
Next step in supporting the Smart City professionals development is creating a common space for exchange of information, discussions, and peer-to-peer learning where professionals, trainers, employers will continue to work together to improve the Smart Cities sector.
With that in mind we established Smart DevOps Community of Practice in beginning of June 2021. In few weeks the CoP grew to over 100 members and has started to shape into a vibrant and knowledgeable community active on daily level. It is hosted in the framework of Smart DevOps Facebook page which makes it easily accessible and familiar in terms of how to use the platform.
