{"id":1301,"date":"2020-04-14T15:13:36","date_gmt":"2020-04-14T15:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devops.uth.gr\/dev\/?p=1301"},"modified":"2024-08-31T17:47:00","modified_gmt":"2024-08-31T17:47:00","slug":"standardisation-activities-for-smart-and-sustainable-cities-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smartdevops.eu\/dev\/standardisation-activities-for-smart-and-sustainable-cities-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Standardisation activities for Smart and Sustainable Cities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Our project partner&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.elot.gr\/default_en.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Hellenic Organisation for Standardisation \u2013 NQIS\/ELOT<\/a>&nbsp;is the sole national body in Greece responsible for the elaboration, approval, publication and distribution of Hellenic Standards. The elaboration of standards is entrusted to ELOT\u2019s Technical Committees and Working Groups, in which interested parties from both the Public and the Private Sector are represented, in order to achieve maximum possible consensus among them. In this framework, ELOT operates more than 190 Technical Committees and Working Groups, members of which are more than 1100 distinguished Greek scientists.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In this article ELOT summarizes the standardisation activities at national, European, and international levels that concern mainly technological and managerial issues of smart and sustainable cities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The standardisation efforts for the Smart and Sustainable Cities (SSC) &nbsp;are expanding following the commitment of national governments to UN AGENDA 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Standardization&nbsp; bodies can play an important role for the successful deployment of&nbsp; SSCs, as they provide a base for interoperability of equipment and networks , risks limitation, common framework and consensus among &nbsp;stakeholders, i.e. administrations and public authorities, city residents, vendors and service providers, third party organizations and academia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this article a summary of &nbsp;the standardization activities at national, European, and international level are presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Standardisation at National level<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Greece the National Standardisation Organisation&nbsp;<strong>(ELOT)<\/strong>&nbsp;has established&nbsp; two working groups named \u2018Smart and Sustainable Cities\u2019 and \u2018KPIs for ICT in SSC\u2019 &nbsp;for the preparation of the national standard ELOT 1457 \u2018Sustainable Development of Communities \u2013 Reporting and Indicators of sustainability performance\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Standardisation at European level<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Telecommunications Standards Institute&nbsp;<strong>(ETSI)<\/strong>&nbsp;is the European standards body dealing with telecommunications, broadcasting and other electronic communications networks and services.&nbsp;Related standardization documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>ETSI TS 103 463-2 Global KPIs for Sustainable Digital MultiService Areas<\/li><li>ETSI TR 103 536 SmartM2M; Strategic\/technical approach on how to achieve interoperability\/interworking of existing standardized IoT Platforms<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Industry Specification Group \u2018Context Information Management\u2019 (ISG CIM) &nbsp;GS CIM 009 for NGSI-LD API<\/strong>.The CIM API allows users to provide, consume and subscribe to context information in multiple scenarios and involving multiple stakeholders. It enables close to real-time access to information coming from not only IoT data sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GR CIM 002<\/strong>&nbsp;discusses the concepts which are foundational for Cross-Cutting CIM (C3IM) and their application to a selection of Use Cases from the domains of Smart Cities, Smart Agrifood and Smart Industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ETSI Industry Specification Group \u2018City Digital Profile\u2019&nbsp;<\/strong>will develop a standards-based framework and corresponding technology roadmap that will enable city administrators to be able to deliver advanced services to their citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3rd Generation Partnership Project&nbsp;<strong>(3GPP)<\/strong>&nbsp;with the&nbsp; Rel. 16 is also focused on functions for smart cities,&nbsp;<strong>ETSI TS 122 261<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>V15.8.0<\/strong>: 5G; Service requirements for next generation new services and markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TheEuropean Committee for Standardization (<strong>CEN)&nbsp;<\/strong>has established recently the CEN\/TC 465 \u2018Sustainable and Smart Cities and Communities\u2019. CEN\/TC 428&nbsp; \u2018Digital Competences and ICT professionalism\u2019 &nbsp;has published EN16234-1: DevOps expert role&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Standardisation at International level<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The International Organization for Standardization (<strong>ISO)&nbsp;<\/strong>has established the ISO TC268responsible&nbsp; for thestandardization in the field of SSC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Related standards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>ISO 37101 Management system for sustainable development \u2014 Requirements with guidance for use<\/li><li>ISO 37120 Indicators for city services and quality of life, ISO 37122: Indicators for Smart Cities, ISO 37123: Indicators for Resilient Cities<\/li><li>\u0399SO 37151 Smart community infrastructures \u2013 Principles and requirements for performance metrics<\/li><li>ISO 37153 Maturity model for assessment and improvement<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ISO\/CASCO\/JWG 50&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;CASCO works on issues relating to conformity assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Related standardization document: ISO\/IEC TS 17021-8:2019 Competence requirements for auditing and certification of management systems for sustainable development in communities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ISO\/IEC JTC1&nbsp;<\/strong>is working on a program intended to establish a reference framework for smart cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Related&nbsp; standards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>ISO\/IEC 30145-1: Smart city business process framework<\/li><li>ISO\/IEC 30145-2: Smart city knowledge management framework<\/li><li>ISO\/IEC 30145-3: Smart city engineering framework<\/li><li>ISO\/IEC 30146: IT\u2014 Smart city ICT indicators<\/li><li>ISO\/IEC 30182: Smart city concept model \u2014 Guidance for establishing a model for data interoperability<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bThe International Telecommunication Union&nbsp;<strong>(ITU)<\/strong>&nbsp;has established:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Focus Group on Smart Sustainable Cities&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>ITU-T Study Group 20&nbsp;<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>ITU-T Y.4200: Requirements for interoperability of smart city platforms<\/li><li>ITU-T Y.4201: High-level requirements and reference framework of smart city platform<\/li><li>ITU-T Y.4901\/L.1601: KPIs related to the use of ICT in SSC, ITU-T<\/li><li>Y.4902\/L.1602: KPIs related to the sustainability impacts of ICT in SSC<\/li><li>ITU-T Y.4903\/L.1603: KPIs for smart sustainable cities to assess the achievement of sustainable development goals<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The International Electrotechnical Commission&nbsp;<strong>(IEC)<\/strong>&nbsp; has established the:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SyC Smart CITIES&nbsp;<\/strong>for &nbsp;the development of standards in the field of electrotechnology to help with the integration, interoperability and effectiveness of city systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Related standardization documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>PT 63152<\/strong>: City Service Continuity against disasters the role of the electrical supply<\/li><li><strong>IEC TS 63235 ED1<\/strong>: Systems Reference Deliverable (SRD) \u2013 Smart City System \u2013 Methodology for concepts and taxonomies building<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our project partner&nbsp;Hellenic Organisation for Standardisation \u2013 NQIS\/ELOT&nbsp;is the sole national body in Greece responsible for the elaboration, approval, publication and distribution of Hellenic Standards.
