{"id":2421,"date":"2020-04-08T09:09:20","date_gmt":"2020-04-08T09:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devops.uth.gr\/dev\/?p=2421"},"modified":"2024-08-31T17:47:01","modified_gmt":"2024-08-31T17:47:01","slug":"standardisation-activities-for-smart-and-sustainable-cities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smartdevops.eu\/dev\/standardisation-activities-for-smart-and-sustainable-cities\/","title":{"rendered":"Standardisation activities for Smart  and  Sustainable Cities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Our project partner <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.elot.gr\/default_en.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Hellenic Organisation for Standardisation &#8211; NQIS\/ELOT<\/a> is the sole national body in Greece responsible for the elaboration, approval, publication and distribution of Hellenic Standards. The elaboration of standards is entrusted to ELOT\u2019s Technical Committees and Working Groups, in which interested parties from both the Public and the Private Sector are represented, in order to achieve maximum possible consensus among them. In this framework, ELOT operates more than 190 Technical Committees and Working Groups, members of which are more than 1100 distinguished Greek scientists.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In this article ELOT summarizes the standardisation activities at national, European, and international levels that concern mainly technological and managerial issues of smart and sustainable cities.<\/em>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The standardisation efforts for the Smart and Sustainable Cities (SSC)  &nbsp;are expanding following the commitment of national governments to UN  AGENDA 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Standardization&nbsp; bodies can play an important role for the successful  deployment of&nbsp; SSCs, as they provide a base for interoperability of  equipment and networks , risks limitation, common framework and  consensus among &nbsp;stakeholders, i.e. administrations and public  authorities, city residents, vendors and service providers, third party  organizations and academia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this article a summary of &nbsp;the standardization activities at national, European, and international level are presented. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Standardisation at National level<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Telecommunications Standards Institute <strong>(ETSI)<\/strong> is the European standards body dealing with telecommunications, broadcasting and other electronic communications networks and services. Related standardization documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>ETSI TS 103 463-2 Global KPIs for Sustainable Digital MultiService Areas<\/li><li>ETSI TR 103 536 SmartM2M; Strategic\/technical approach on how to achieve interoperability\/interworking of existing standardized IoT Platforms<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Industry Specification Group \u2018Context Information Management\u2019 (ISG CIM) &nbsp;GS CIM 009 for NGSI-LD API<\/strong>.The  CIM API allows users to provide, consume and subscribe to context  information in multiple scenarios and involving multiple stakeholders.  It enables close to real-time access to information coming from not only  IoT data sources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GR CIM 002<\/strong> discusses the concepts which are foundational for Cross-Cutting CIM (C3IM) and their application to a selection of Use Cases from the domains of Smart Cities, Smart Agrifood and Smart Industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ETSI Industry Specification Group \u2018City Digital Profile\u2019 <\/strong>will develop a standards-based framework and corresponding technology roadmap that will enable city administrators to be able to deliver advanced services to their citizens.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3rd Generation Partnership Project <strong>(3GPP)<\/strong> with the&nbsp; Rel. 16 is also focused on functions for smart cities, <strong>ETSI TS 122 261<\/strong> <strong>V15.8.0<\/strong>: 5G; Service requirements for next generation new services and markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Committee for Standardization (<strong>CEN) <\/strong>has  established recently the CEN\/TC 465 \u2018Sustainable and Smart Cities and  Communities\u2019.
