This also raises the question of who the actual actors of current urban, regional and metropolitan regional development are and what role planners can play in the corresponding scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>The renowned RWTH Aachen in the historical European medium sized city of Aachen, in the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia with its rich mining and industrial tradition, located in a cross-border city region in the border triangle Germany-Belgium-Netherlands, is the ideal place to discuss these developments and challenges with experts from all over the world.<\/p>\n<h2>Our SmartDevOps project will have a special focus at the event.<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>During the keynote on 14 September &#8220;<strong>Europe as a Global Player and Partner in Shaping the Future<\/strong>&#8221; by Erich Hutter and Norbert Frischauf &#8211; experts on European Research, Innovation and Cooperation Initiatives, the <strong>contribution<\/strong> on DevOps will be made by <strong>Hans R\u00fcdiger Kaufmann<\/strong> of the DevOps Project partner <strong>University of Applied Management Studies<\/strong>, Mannheim, Germany.<\/li>\n<li>During the special session on 15 September &#8220;<span class=\"highlight selected\">DevOps<\/span> Competences for Smart Cities&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>During the session &#8216;Real Smart Cities&#8217; our project partners will do the presentation &#8220;<strong><span class=\"highlight selected\">DevOps<\/span> Competences for Smart City Administrators<\/strong>&#8221; based on the submitted paper.<\/li>\n<li>The paper is already <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.corp.at\/cdrom2020\/papers2020\/CORP2020_149.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published in the conference proceedings<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/conference.corp.at\/Download\/CORP2020\/realcorp2020programme.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">See the details in the conference programme<\/a><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Papers and presentations of REAL CORP 2020 are covering especially the following topics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Transforming City Regions \u2013 &nbsp;Constant Changes on all Scales<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>regional urban planning and design of the city region,<\/li>\n<li>Cross-Border-City-Regions, International Building Exhibitions (IBA),<\/li>\n<li>Standardisation trough technological development vs. the quest for uniqueness and peculiarity,<\/li>\n<li>Competition, collaboration, coopetition \u2013 within and amongst city regions,<\/li>\n<li>Tradition vs. Branding: Keeping and creating the identity, the spirit, the emotions of cities, regions and places.
