The event, entitled \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/summit.all-digital.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Competences for the Future<\/a><\/strong>\u201d, is co-hosted by ALL DIGITAL German members <a href=\"https:\/\/all-digital.org\/helliwood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Helliwood<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/all-digital.org\/joblinge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JOBLINGE<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/all-digital.org\/digital-opportunities-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Digital Opportunities Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>ALL DIGITAL Summit 2020 is supported by the <strong>Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy<\/strong> <strong>of the Federal Government of Germany<\/strong>, which has the Presidency of the European Union from 1 July to 31 December 2020. The German Government has made <strong>digital learning one of the key priorities<\/strong> for education and training during their EU Presidency.<\/p>\n<p>The Summit brings together representatives of networks and organisations working to enhance digital skills of European citizens. The theme this year is \u201c<strong>Competences for the future<\/strong>\u201d, and keynotes, panels, lightning talks and workshops will be organised around these four topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Towards a version 2.2 of DigComp&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>DIGCOMP<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The future of digital competence centres &gt;&nbsp;<strong>FUTURE<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Recognition of digital competence certificates in Europe &gt;&nbsp;<strong>CERTIFICATION<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Lessons learned during Covid-19 &gt; <strong>LESSONS<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Check the <a href=\"https:\/\/summit.all-digital.org\/programme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>PROGRAMME<\/strong><\/a> to learn more about the sessions.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>SmartDevOps Project at the Summit<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Our SmartDevOps project and the topic of preparing smart city professionals will be presented in the plenary lightning talk and in a&nbsp; dedicated workshop.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>lightning talk<\/strong> &#8220;<strong>Resilient smart cities. Do we have the skills?&#8221;, <\/strong>the SmartDevOps project coordinator Professor <strong>Panos Fitsilis<\/strong> of University of Thessaly will present the results of a survey that attempts to define the required skills for a \u201cSmart and Resilience City Officers\u201d<strong>. <\/strong>Covid-19 pandemic has created new challenges for the development of Smart and Sustainable Cities. It has proven that it is not sufficient to focus on providing services for quality of life or for better business ecosystems, but we need to prepare cities to be able to ensure city services and enhance the quality of life in the face of hazards, shocks, and stresses (ISO 37123). According to this definition, resilience does not include only natural disasters, but as well whatever disrupts significantly the operation of a city either occasionally or periodically, such as high unemployment, health epidemics, and chronic food and water shortages. Even though some standards and projects exist in this area, we have not yet consensus on a common city resilience model that will able to describe what exactly constitutes resilience and a resilient city. Furthermore, up to now, little emphasis has been given to the way municipalities are organized for addressing hazards and even less on training their personnel to the new skills required.<\/p>\n<p>The talk will give examples of the projects in this area, with the focus on our \u201cSmart DevOps competencies for smart cities\u201d project, attempting to define the required skills and job profiles needed for Smart and Sustainable Cities professionals and to develop the training to support those professionals.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop on <strong>8 October<\/strong> &#8220;<strong>Key competences for smart cities stakeholders&#8221; <\/strong>will be co-chaired by Panos Fitsilis from <a href=\"https:\/\/uth.gr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Thessaly<\/a> and Rudy Kaufmann from&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hdwm.de\/en\">University of Applied Management Studies<\/a>.&nbsp; It will focus on topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smart cities ecosystems and the need to invest in upskilling the involved stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Requirements for competencies development for smart cities ecosystems<\/li>\n<li>New job profiles for smart cities\u2019 officials<\/li>\n<li>Standardization of smart cities job profiles<\/li>\n<li>Competencies for the future<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>How to participate?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Registration for the event is mandatory. <\/strong>To register, please complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/summit.all-digital.org\/registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>REGISTRATION FORM<\/strong><\/a> by <strong>1 October 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summit website: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/summit.all-digital.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">summit.all-digital.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 7-8 October 2020,&nbsp; our project partner ALL DIGITAL, a pan-European association working in the field of digital inclusion and empowerment, will organise its 13th annual summit online.
