European Vocational Skills Week<\/a> is an annual event when local, regional or national organisations showcase the very best of vocational education and training (VET).  This is a platform to make VET\u2019s potential more widely known, and an opportunity to exchange information and good practice across Europe and beyond.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Vocational Skills Week initiative was created in 2016 by the European Commission following the publication of the 2016 Skills Agenda, and after the call from the EU Directors General of Vocational Training in the \u201cRiga conclusions\u201d on VET to present the visible achievements of European cooperation in VET (known as the Copenhagen process). The European Parliament has also asked the Commission to strengthen its work on raising awareness of the potential and benefits of quality VET, as well as on learner mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has seriously disrupted all forms of education and training. This is an opportunity to take a fresh approach to VET, making it more modern, attractive, flexible and fit for the digital age and green transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fifth edition of the Week is a 100% online event organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union. A series of partner activities will take place digitally across the EU. Anyone, anywhere can join in these activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s theme is VET for Green and Digital Transitions, in line with the Commission priorities of a \u201cEuropean Green Deal\u201d and a \u201cEurope fit for the digital age\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can you be part of the Week?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Any organisation, company, school, library, association in the EU, EFTA or candidate countries, or which is supported by the European Training Foundation, can organise events\/activities<\/a> as part of the Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any event\/activity taking place between March and December 2020 can apply<\/a> to be an official partner event of European Vocational Skills Week.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are organising an event\/activity that focuses on VET and you want to help raise its profile, register it on the Week website via this form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the dedicated European Vocational Skills Week<\/a><\/strong> website you can find the events, partners, and the list of resources to help you organise and promote your events. The resources<\/a> include toolkits, factsheets, guidelines, templates and multiple visual materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SmartDevOps Consortium is organising an event “Designing and Delivering VET Curricula in the Digital Age” on 11 November<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the framework of the European Vocational Skills Week<\/a>, project partners European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training<\/a> and ALL DIGITAL<\/a> are organising an event ‘Designing and Delivering VET Curricula in the Digital Age” on 11 Noveber from 10:00 till 12:00. A group of speakers from the world of VET will address the challenges posed to the sector by the increasing need for digitized <\/a>training and training on digital skills.
